Corporate Plus® is an unprecedented membership program for NMSDC-certified minority businesses of the highest caliber. This program was created to address corporate member requests for assistance in locating minority suppliers with the capacity to fulfill national contracts.

The Corporate Plus® members have demonstrated their capacity to execute national contracts for major corporations. NMSDC national corporate members nominate MBEs for this designation, which elevates their profile among national corporate members and facilitates the MBEs broader participation throughout the NMSDC network.

The success of the Corporate Plus® program and member MBEs helps raise the level and perception of minority businesses to national prominence in corporate America.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous, detail-oriented Director, Corporate Plus to be responsible for redesigning and leading the NMSDC Corporate Plus™ program that drives awareness, engagement, satisfaction, and utilization within the NMSDC network.  The director’s primary goal is to amplify the Corporate Plus program and responsibilities include developing and promoting programs that assist in Corporate Plus member growth and scalability.  Overall, the director will look for ways to increase the program value to all NMSDC stakeholders. To be a successful director, you should be a natural leader and have the proven ability to inspire and motivate the team. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to create and maintain relationships at various levels within both Corporate and Corporate Plus memberships.

Job Location: Remote/Preferred Location: New York
Employment Status: Full-time
Reports to: Vice President, Member Success
Travel Requirements: Travel required for company business development and organizations events; 25-30%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research market needs to determine specific programs or initiatives that will drive value to the Corporate Plus members
  • Grow the Corporate Plus membership year over year
  • Design and implement initiatives for new corporate plus member nomination, selection, and onboarding
  • Establish processes to track and report on the effectiveness and impact of the Corporate Plus program
  • Work with the regional council presidents to develop and implement local programming to advocate, develop and connect corporate plus members with senior level buying entities
  • Oversee the corporate plus membership growth (# of members and revenue)
  • Work with internal functional areas to ensure programs, campaigns and tracking is communicated effectively
  • Establish initiatives to bring NMSDC teams together to drive operational excellence of the corporate plus program
  • Present periodic results to the VP of Member Success
  • Develop board and executive committee reports for presentation to the scheduled meetings
  • Present the program value and offerings at conferences and events
  • Assess needs and ensures that program objectives are met
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications / Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field required
  • 5 or more years’ experience in program development and management
  • Ability to bring together members from various constituent groups to collaborate on NMSDC’s value proposition
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts
  • The ability to meet or exceed targets and goals
  • The willingness to undergo training to become familiar with the NMSDC and service offerings
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executive level professionals from Supplier Diversity leaders up to and including C-Suite executives
  • Strong leadership, managerial, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • The ability to create and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Dynamic thinker with a strategic growth mindset
  • Ability to manage various projects in fast-paced environment
