NMSDC Announces Leadership Transition, and Interim CEO

宣传

NMSDC continues to move forward with strength, unity, and purpose. As of August 15, Ying McGuire’s tenure as CEO & President of NMSDC concluded. Please join me in giving thanks to Ying for her many contributions, including advancing technology innovation and advocacy for the organization. We are grateful for her leadership and wish her the very best in the future.

At the same time, we are pleased to welcome a friend and ally of NMSDC, the Honorable Don Cravins, Jr., former Under Secretary of Commerce for the Minority Business Development Agency, as Interim CEO. A respected national leader, Don brings deep experience in economic empowerment and a lifelong commitment to advancing minority business enterprises. Over the past year, he has served as a valued NMSDC Board member and Chair Designee, supporting the Executive Committee and helping advance our mission. His leadership, credibility, and passion for creating economic opportunity will ensure a seamless transition as we launch a national search for NMSDC’s next permanent CEO.

Reflecting on this transition, outgoing President and CEO, Ying McGuire shared: “It has been a privilege to serve as President and CEO of NMSDC over the past four years. Together, we have accomplished more than many thought possible. At this pivotal moment, however, it is time for new leadership with fresh ideas and perspectives to guide the organization forward. I am honored to pass the baton to our Interim CEO, Don Cravins Jr., whose deep experience in public service, economic development, and advocacy for minority communities will serve NMSDC well.”

This leadership transition comes at a time when we have also made important progress, as the NMSDC national office and affiliates finalized a historic agreement that strengthens our collaboration and positions us for greater impact. With this foundation in place, we remain steadfast in our mission to advance economic impact and create greater opportunities for minority-owned businesses.

Looking ahead, our Annual Conference & Exchange in Miami on November 2–5  will be a defining rallying point for our community. With the theme Navigating Our New Economy, this year’s conference calls us to meet the moment together—amid market headwinds and shifting global policies—with purpose and urgency. It will be an opportunity for MBEs, corporate members, policymakers, and partners to rally behind shared priorities, identify the new norms that will guide us forward, and show up economically for our communities.

NMSDC is strong. Our work is urgent. And with your continued support and engagement, we will continue to build a future where minority businesses thrive as a cornerstone of the American and global economy.

With gratitude,

卡拉-吉布森

Chairman of the Board, NMSDC
