Contract Opportunity Description:
California’s policies to reduce greenhouse gases have been successful in increasing renewable energy production in the state. As a result of these proactive policies, PG&E is seeing increases in clean, renewable generation and a decline in fossil-based, fast-ramping generation. This “increased use of variable generation resources”  affects grid reliability due to the challenges with net load as depicted by the “duck curve”.

On July 30, 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a Proclamation of a State of Emergency in response to the significant and accelerating impacts of climate change in California. The Proclamation stated, “it is necessary to take immediate action to reduce the strain on the energy infrastructure.”

Supply Chain Responsibility Considerations:
The selected supplier is expected to align with PG&E’s Supply Chain Responsibility policies and procedures. The supplier will be asked to provide a detailed description of their internal, specific supply chain responsibility program and practices related to supplier diversity, environmental sustainability, and ethical business conduct.

Conduct Requirements:
Suppliers, as well as their employees, subcontractors, and sub-suppliers, must adhere to the principles and standards outlined in our Supplier Code of Conduct as they provide goods and services to PG&E. Review the Code and understand its obligations here: PG&E Supplier Code of Conduct (http://www.pgecorp.com/corp/about-us/compliance-ethics/program/third-party-code-conduct.page)
