ChicagoMSDC Officially Welcomes New President and CEO

June 26, 2020 – Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (ChicagoMSDC) officially announces that J. Vincent Williams will be the new President and Chief Executive Officer. Effective July 1, 2020, Mr. Williams will be the 5th President of the Council over the last 50 years of its history.

Founded in 1968, ChicagoMSDC is one of 23 affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) advancing business opportunities for certified Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American enterprises and connecting them to ally firms, corporations and government buying agencies.

Prior to accepting the appointment at the ChicagoMSDC, Mr. Williams led economic development initiatives by consulting directly with small businesses and entrepreneurs interested in starting, growing, or scaling their business as the Vice President of Economic Empowerment and the Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.

“We are excited to announce Mr. Williams as the new President and CEO of the Council. It was imperative that we found an executive who could lead with skill and experience and operate within a nimble entrepreneurial environment. And our Board is confident that he will bring fresh, new ideas and execute those ideas to support the entire supplier diversity ecosystem,” said Mark Hands, Board Chairman of ChicagoMSDC.

Mr. Williams spent more than 25 years of his career in corporate America and non-profit organizations. He brings extensive knowledge and experience in managing small business sustainability and succession, leading corporate C-Suite engagement and building valuable community partnerships. He is a native of Chicago’s South Side and comes from a family of entrepreneurs.

“I am honored to accept this appointment and humbled by the enormous support from the ChicagoMSDC community. I am also fully prepared to vigorously pursue opportunities that protect, grow and sustain minority-owned businesses and minority communities throughout the Chicagoland region,” said Williams. “I look forward to connecting with our MBE firms, corporate members and community partners to listen and learn more about the needs of our network.”

The ChicagoMSDC network is invited to hear directly from Mr. Vince Williams, ChicagoMSDC’s new President and CEO, on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 12:00 pm as part of the Chicago Business Opportunity Fair.
