Technical Support Specialist

Position Summary:

The Technical Support Specialist will be crucial in managing NMSDC’s Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, ensuring data security, and providing both internal and external user support. Candidates should align with NMSDC’s mission to support minority businesses and demonstrate creativity and motivation in enhancing the organization’s impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft 365 Management: Optimize and maintain Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Security, Compliance, and Identity centers.
  • Azure Cloud Management: Support and maintain virtual machines and Active Directory on Microsoft Azure.
  • Remote User Support: Administer application access, multi-factor authentication, device management, and issue resolution via IT ticketing systems.
  • Third-Party Cloud Services: Manage services such as Barracuda Email Protection, Adobe subscriptions, Google Workplace, and CrashPlan.
  • Security Management: Use Microsoft 365 and Azure tools to defend against security risks, train users on best practices, and address any compromises.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Handle device and license assignments, IT property management, and access control.
  • CRM Administration: Maintain CRM applications like Zoho One and various custom applications created within the platform.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop, document, and administer a disaster recovery plan and cloud-to-cloud backups.
  • Customer Support: Troubleshoot and manage access to customer-facing applications.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years managing Microsoft 365 tenant, Azure experience, and remote user support.
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and manage multiple projects. Willingness to work occasional off-hours for maintenance.
