The Initiative

Walmart and Sam’s Club strive to save people money so they can live better. Sourcing from small, innovative, and diverse suppliers and entrepreneurs helps us offer a broad assortment of products to meet the unique needs of our customers and members, provides economic growth opportunities, and builds supply chain resilience.

Qualifying companies can obtain a diverse supplier certification at the state and local level or via a recognized private certification agency to validate their standing as diverse-owned. Companies certifying for the first time or for their second certification may be eligible for support from Walmart Supplier Inclusion. 

Reimbursement Eligibility

Eligibility to participate in the Walmart and Sam’s Club certification reimbursement program requires that you and your company meet the following requirements:

  • Revenue under $42M
  • The business must produce goods and services that could be sold to Walmart Stores Inc., and Sam’s Club
  • Must be United States citizens.
  • Must be at least 51% minority-owned, managed, and controlled. 
  • Must be an independent for-profit enterprise and physically located in the U.S. or its trust territories.
  • Management and daily operations must be exercised by the minority ownership member(s).
  • NMSDC will prioritize existing Walmart & Sam’s Club suppliers.

This program will reimburse certification fees only.
