Truist, with responsibility for Accounting Policy, SEC and Internal Reporting, Corporate Accounting, and the Credit and Treasury Controller functions.

Prior to the merger, Ryan served as the CAO and Corporate Controller of SunTrust and was responsible for a number of Corporate Finance functions, including Accounting Consultations, Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting and Accounting Operations. He also worked with Business Segment controllers in driving improvements in financial reporting, risk management and internal controls.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Ryan worked at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland as a Member of the Secretariat of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. During his time in Basel, Ryan also supported the Financial Stability Board in evaluating and coordinating derivative reform efforts. Ryan’s work at the BIS was preceded by a three-year stint with the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) in Washington D.C., where he served as a Senior Accounting Policy Analyst in the FRB’s Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation.

Prior to joining the FRB, Ryan worked at the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) as a project manager on the fair value measurement and financial instrument projects. Ryan’s other experience includes advising firm personnel and external clients of KPMG LLP on technical accounting matters, serving in both the Department of Professional Practice (National Office) and the Advisory practice of the Firm. Ryan also completed a postgraduate rotation with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) where his work focused on consolidation and financial instrument accounting.
