BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPOTLIGHT
Montee Tayion Holland Feature Story– Founder and CEO of The Tayion Collection
Montee Tayion Holland has never been afraid to stand out. As the visionary Founder and CEO of The Tayion Collection, he has built a multi-million-dollar menswear brand defined by bold sophistication, premium craftsmanship, and an authentic cultural voice. His designs challenge convention while honoring timeless elegance, making The Tayion Collection one of the most distinct and dynamic menswear labels of today.
A proud Marine Corps veteran, Montee credits his military service for shaping the discipline, precision, and intentionality that now anchor his life’s work in fashion. What began as an internal curiosity—an instinct for color, structure, and elevated design, grew into a calling to redefine how men experience personal style.
Before pursuing fashion full-time, Montee forged a successful career at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Yet even as he excelled in the corporate world, the pull toward creativity and design grew stronger. He understood something fundamental about men: that style is more than clothing. It is confidence. Comfort. Individuality. A chance to show up fully in every space.
It was this understanding that ultimately propelled him to build The Tayion Collection, a brand dedicated to empowering men to step into their presence with authority and authenticity.
Under Montee’s leadership, The Tayion Collection has achieved major milestones and formed influential industry partnerships. His collaboration with Peerless Clothing helped elevate the brand’s national reach, while his work with Macy’s produced the exclusive Divine Nine Collection, a culturally resonant line honoring the legacy and impact of historically Black fraternities and sororities. The collection reflects Montee’s reverence for Black culture, heritage, and community, bringing representation to mainstream retail in a way that is both celebratory and overdue.
“Black history lives in our creativity, our resilience, and our excellence,” said Montee. “My work is rooted in honoring that legacy and empowering the culture that shaped me. To represent where we come from and help define where we are going is both an honor and a responsibility I carry with pride.”
Montee is also an alumnus of The Workshop at Macy’s and the Boston Consulting Group Spark Program, two elite development platforms that have amplified his business strategy, sharpened his national footprint, and expanded his influence within the fashion industry.
From his home base in Detroit, Montee has grown The Tayion Collection into a respected fashion house with products available at major retailers and through online channels nationwide. His designs continue to inspire those who value self-expression, refined quality, and modern sophistication.
Guided by his personal mantra, “Get Up, Get Dressed – Get Outside – Get Involved,” Montee champions an approach to life that is rooted in purpose, presence, and possibility. Through his artistry, leadership, and relentless pursuit of excellence, he stands as a powerful example of Black creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural impact.
NMSDC proudly celebrates Montee Tayion Holland for his contributions to fashion, his dedication to elevating Black representation in design, and his ongoing commitment to empowering individuals to bring their fullest selves into the world.
