Position Summary:
The Research Analyst Intern is an integral role that will quickly add value to our Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Growth team. This position will join a small team, allowing for immediate impact, while interacting with other departments, MBEs, and Corporate Members to provide support.
The Research Analyst will conduct research and provide data management services to build and maintain a variety of databases for the benefit of our MBE-certified clients. They will work with internal and external resources to identify proprietary, paid, and public data resources, as well as identify potential partnerships, to ensure our clients can easily access capital, operational resources, and new industry trends and programs. The databases will help our clients more efficiently match their businesses with resources that best match the size and scope of their activities.
This part-time internship will be 20 hours per week for a period of four months. The position will be remote and will report directly to the Entrepreneur-In-Residence, VP of MBE Growth. At the conclusion of this role, this individual will have gained excellent knowledge of the MBE ecosystem, including sources of capital, operational resources, value chains, industry trends and other supplier diversity activities. This exposure will provide you with real-world experience about resources that are available to help companies grow, trends in corporate needs as they relate to supplier and business diversity, Fortune 500 procurement processes, and key players in making the U.S. business landscape more inclusive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bring together data from proprietary, paid and public data sources to build databases of resources for minority-owned businesses.
- Develop and manage relationships with non-client industry professionals to help support primary research efforts.
- Provide support to national and regional teams to match MBE’s with appropriate and productive resources.
- Provide input and ideas for new collection methods and database enhancements.
- Identify unique themes that may expand the focus area, including government and industry programs.
- Conduct other support activities as requested.
Qualifications:
- A senior or graduate student pursuing a degree an Undergraduate degree within Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Ability to work both independently and interactively with others.
- Strong interest and intellectual curiosity in supplier diversity and minority-owned businesses; ability to identify appropriate information and trends.
- Must be detail oriented and prioritize data accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with strong Excel knowledge; experience with other database systems and automation tools are preferred.
- Comfortable taking initiative and demonstrating resourcefulness
